Roach Control Procedure:

  • We will visually inspect the inside and outside area, provide a free estimate for the roach treatment, and treat the infestation (crack and crevice), and vacuum.
  • If the inside of your property is treated, you must be prepared to leave the premises for at least 5 hours. If the outside of your property is treated, you will not be required to leave.

  • Please remove all items from the following places: kitchen drawers, kitchen cabinets, kitchen pantry, under kitchen sink, closets in all rooms.
  • The chemicals used to treat roach infestations depend on the type of roach being treated. Some roaches require growth regulators to control the roach life cycle for complete elimination. These chemicals can possibly be harmful if it comes into contact with skin, are ingested, or are inhaled.

Roach Prevention:

  • Poor housekeeping is sure to attract and produce an environment that harbors roaches. Keeping your home clean, safe, and free of clutter is the first step to eliminating roaches.
  • Please also keep all food in proper storage containers and in a timely manner. Once the roaches are eliminated from your home, the best way to prevent future issues is to schedule regular visits from a pest control professional. Regular pest control appointments can be scheduled at 2, 3, or 4-month intervals. Develop a plan with an MDE Pest Services professional to prevent and manage future roach issues.

Roach Identification & Issues

Identification:

  • There are over 15 different kinds of cockroaches found in South Carolina with only a few that may be found inside your home/structure. These may include the German cockroach, brownbanded cockroach, the American, the smokybrown, and the oriental cockroach.
  • Roaches are usually found in heated and moist areas. Your kitchen is prime real estate for them to live and provides a great feeding ground. Often they can be found living behind your refrigerator.

Damage to Health or Property:

  • Roaches regurgitate their digestive fluids & saliva which contaminates your food with germs that can cause diseases and food poisoning. These contaminates also introduce allergens into your home that can cause skin rashes, sneezing, watery eyes, and even asthma attacks.
  • Aside from human harm, property damage might include discoloration of walls and baseboards from their feces. There is a good reason they give us the heebie-jeebies!
